About this calculator

In numerology, your life path number is the single most important number in your chart. It is calculated from your full date of birth and is said to describe your core personality, natural strengths, typical challenges and the kind of journey you are on. The idea draws on the ancient belief, often credited to Pythagoras and his followers, that numbers carry meaning; the modern system of life path numbers was shaped largely by 20th-century Western numerology writers.

The math is simple, but details matter. This calculator uses the most common method: reduce the month, the day and the year to a single digit separately, then add those three results and reduce again. Along the way, the master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are kept instead of being reduced, because numerologists treat them as intensified versions of 2, 4 and 6. You will see every step of the calculation, so you can check it by hand.

Different sites sometimes give different answers, usually because they add all eight digits at once. We show that alternative number too, so you are never left wondering. Your result page explains what your number is like in love, at work and with friends, which numbers tend to click with yours and which ones will keep you on your toes. Read it the way you would read a horoscope: as a fun mirror that might spark some real self-reflection.

FAQ

How is the life path number calculated?

Reduce the month, the day and the year of your birth to single digits separately (keeping 11, 22 and 33), add the three results, and reduce the total again. Example: November 29, 1990 gives month 11, day 2 + 9 = 11, year 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 โ†’ 10 โ†’ 1, then 11 + 11 + 1 = 23 โ†’ 5.

Why does another site give me a different number?

Numerology is not standardized. Some calculators add every digit of the date in one go, and some reduce 33 to 6 unless 11 or 22 helped create it. Those shortcuts can change the result, especially for master numbers. We show the all-digits result next to yours so you can compare.

What are master numbers?

The numbers 11, 22 and 33 are called master numbers. They are not reduced, and are described as higher-intensity versions of 2, 4 and 6: more potential, more pressure. 33 is the rarest life path.

Is numerology scientific?

No. Numerology has no scientific basis and is not a personality assessment. It is a fun, reflective tradition, best enjoyed like a horoscope.

Do you store my birth date?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and your answers never leave your device. Your last entry may be remembered locally so you can reopen it quickly.

Numerology is for entertainment and self-reflection only. It has no scientific basis and is not a psychological assessment or a guide for life decisions.
