About this picker
Humans have always looked for outside answers when a decision feels too heavy to carry alone. Ancient Greeks traveled to the oracle at Delphi, where the priestess known as the Pythia gave replies that ancient storytellers made famous for their ambiguity. People have flipped coins, opened books to a random page, and pulled straws. The Answer Oracle is a pocket-sized, playful version of that very old habit: think of a question, tap once, and get a reply.
Behind the curtain are 120 original answers in five moods. Thirty lean yes, twenty-five lean no, twenty-five say wait or maybe, twenty are cryptic riddles in classic oracle style, and twenty are pure cheek for when the universe is not in the mood. Want a straight answer? Switch to Serious mode to remove the jokes, or to Straight yes or no for a crisp verdict every time. Each answer comes with a short note on how to read it.
How do you get the most out of a random answer? Ask a clear question that can be answered yes or no, ask it only once, and pay attention to your first reaction when the answer appears. A flash of relief or a twinge of disappointment often tells you more than the words themselves. Psychologists sometimes describe this as using chance to reveal a preference you already had, the same reason people flip a coin and suddenly know which side they were hoping for.
One honest rule: the Oracle is for fun and reflection. Big decisions about health, money, law or safety deserve real information and real people.
How it works
- Think of one clear yes-or-no question and hold it in your mind.
- Tap the Oracle once and wait for the pages to settle on your answer.
- Read the answer and the note beneath it, then notice how it makes you feel.
FAQ
Is the Answer Oracle random?
Yes. Every answer on the chosen list has the same chance of appearing. Nothing about your question is analyzed, because nothing about your question ever leaves your head.
Can I ask the same question twice?
You can, but the classic oracle rule is to ask once and accept the reply. If you keep re-asking until you get the answer you want, that tells you what you were hoping for all along.
What are the different modes?
All answers uses the full set of 120. Serious mode removes the 20 joke answers. Straight yes or no keeps only the 55 clear yes and no replies.
Can it predict the future?
No. It is a random answer generator made for fun and self-reflection. It cannot know anything about you, your question or what will happen.
Is it free, and do you store my questions?
It is completely free, and you never type your question anywhere, so there is nothing to store. You simply hold it in mind and tap.
