Try it yourselfPortrait of a Certified Human
Most people have three kinds of cone cells, tuned roughly to reds, greens and blues, and together they let us tell apart something on the order of a million colors. Your score says that equipment is doing its job nicely. You cruised through the early levels and held your own as the grid filled up and the shade gap shrank.
This is the most common tier, and there is nothing average about being typical in a game designed to get brutally hard. The roast: you are a reliable human, which means you also squinted at the screen, leaned closer, and said "they are literally the same color" at least once.
Strengths
- Healthy, typical shade sensitivity
- Good balance of speed and accuracy
- Handles mid-size grids comfortably
- Consistent enough to improve with practice
Blind spots
- Struggles once the difference gets very small
- Slows down on large 7x7 and 8x8 grids
- Overthinks the last few seconds
How to climb a tier
Try the "soft focus" trick: instead of staring at each tile, look at the center of the grid and let your peripheral vision flag the odd one. Play on a larger, brighter screen if you can. Designers, photographers and people who sort colors for a living often reach Pigeon or Hawk with a little practice.
